The studio

Make it work.
Make it matter.

C Walters Design

C Walters Design is a collaborative interior design studio led by Craige Walters and a trusted team, specializing in bars, restaurants, nightclubs, hotels, retail spaces, and creative workplaces. The best rooms do more than look good. They change the energy, sharpen the business, and give people a reason to come back. We start with what the space needs to do, then push it somewhere more specific, more unexpected, and harder to forget. Craige and his team work directly with owners and operators from the first idea through opening day, bringing together the right architects, consultants, fabricators, and contractors for each project. The studio scales to meet the scope, while the involvement stays personal, practical, and hands-on.

What the studio does

01Concept and creative direction

We define the idea that gives the project its identity, then carry it through the plan, materials, lighting, graphics, and every decision that follows.

02Space planning and guest flow

We study how guests arrive, gather, order, circulate, and stay. The plan is built around clear operations, comfortable movement, and the moments that shape the experience.

03Furniture, lighting, finishes, and custom details

Every visible and tactile element is selected or designed as part of one story, from seating and decorative lighting to finishes, millwork, art, and one-off pieces.

04Purchasing, budgets, and schedules

Design decisions are tracked against real costs and timing. We source, specify, price, order, and coordinate so the concept stays intact without losing control of the budget.

05Coordination through build-out and opening

We work directly with architects, consultants, fabricators, and contractors through construction, installation, styling, and the final details before the doors open.

Craige Walters

Three decades of spaces built for real life.

Craige has spent more than thirty years designing places where people gather. His background behind bars, running restaurants, and building projects from the ground up gives the work an operator’s understanding of what happens after opening night.

Before C Walters Design, Craige co-founded FUN Display, the studio that helped shape a generation of San Francisco entertainment venues. That early work established an instinct that still drives the studio: commit to the idea, know when to push, and never dilute what makes a place distinctive.
